Coastal and Marine Services
Coastal & Marine Division – Marine Endangered Species Observer (MESO) & Marine Construction Support Program
The Coastal and Marine Division facilitates marine-related activities while supporting conservation efforts at every level—national, state, and local. We provide government-approved observers for hopper dredges, offshore operations, and marine construction projects. Our Marine Endangered Species Observer (MESO) program delivers comprehensive services to federal, state, and local governments, port authorities, private contractors, and non-profit organizations.
REMSA, Inc. specializes in training highly skilled MESOs who excel in species identification and regulatory compliance. Each observer is fully certified (NMFS and/or BOEM) and knowledgeable in all state and federal laws. Our expert biologists conduct benthic and pelagic assessments, ornithological surveys, and comprehensive endangered species monitoring for coastal and ocean environments.
Our MESOs collaborate with contractors to minimize impact on protected species, achieving the critical balance between environmental protection and construction goals. Leveraging both established expertise and cutting-edge training, we've expanded our program to provide comprehensive protected species monitoring and conservation services for all marine-related activities.
Our corporate staff is available Monday-Friday 9AM-5PMand our MESO Contractors are assigned 24/7, 365 days a year to support ongoing projects.
